Kaneka (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. currently operating in Gebeng, Kuantan is committed to invest additional RM86 million in its new and existing business here. The Japanese chemical products maker, which is focusing its business growth in Kuantan, will make Malaysia the main growth centre of its global operations.
Managing Director of Kaneka companies, Ryuichi Takagi said some RM30 million initial investment has been set aside for the company’s new business called Flame-Retarded Polyester Fibres for Wigs (PFW) which will be carried out by Kaneka Innovative Fibres Sdn. Bhd.
In other developments, Kaneka also announced its additional investment totalling RM115 million to expand its PVC resin plant here. Its President, Kimikazu Sugawara said a new equipment using new process technology will be installed at its subsidiary, Kaneka Paste Polymer Sdn Bhd site. With these new developments, the Kaneka group has committed a total investment of over Rm200 million in Malaysia for 2010.
