The Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport

The Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport is located approximately 15 kilometres from Kuantan town. It serves two daily flights to and from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and able to handle more than 1 million passengers annually. The airport, which was formerly known as the Padang Geroda Airport, is operated by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad.

The airport is also used by the Royal Malaysian Air Force to operate MIG-29s from the nearby Kuantan Royal Malaysian Air Force base.

Apart from the basic amenities, the Sultan Ahmad Shah terminal building houses travel and tour agencies, banks, restaurants, souvenir shops selling local batik and handicrafts, and retail shops. In addition, taxi services and information kiosk on resorts and hotels are also available at the terminal building.
